Carrie Underwood Headlining Global Citizen Festival

Carrie Underwood is one of the many headliners announced for the free Global Citizen Festival - an event whose goal is to help end extreme poverty worldwide by 2030. The concert goes down at NYC's Central Park September 27, airing live on MSNBC.

"I believe we all have the ability to make our world a better place," Underwood said in a statement.

"Positive change is possible when we work together, and this festival is a hopeful opportunity for all of us to help see an end to extreme poverty."

The fest will also get headlining sets from Jay Z, No Doubt, fun., the Roots and Tiesto.

Free tickets are available at GlobalCitizenFestival.com. Users get the tickets by completing one of several different actions, including signing petitions and learning more about immunizations.
