Carrie Underwood Returning To Sunday Night Football

Carrie Underwood will return as the voice of Sunday Night Football's theme song for a second year. During the opening segment, Carrie sings the rousing number "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."

"This year, they were going for a roaming party-concert - lots of lights and they wanted it to feel really high energy," she tells the Hollywood Reporter. "I got to go back into the studio and make a few tweaks."

She added that she also taped a video to kick off next year's Super Bowl as well, featuring "high end digital graphics, the Lombardi trophy replicated larger than life, and the traditional Super Bowl roman numerals taking various shapes across the screen."

Last year, Underwood became the face of the theme music after Faith Hill retired. Hill sang the theme song for six seasons.

The first SNF game kicks off September 14 when the Seattle Seahawks take on the Green Bay Packers.
