NBC Releases Carrie Underwood Clip From The Sound Of Music
NBC has released a clip of Carrie Underwood performing in her role as Maria von Trapp from the network's upcoming live reboot of The Sound of Music.
The one-minute clip, published on SoundCloud, features Underwood singing the title song to the film:
"The hills are alive with the sound of music / With songs they have sung for a thousand years," coos Carrie on the cut. The three hour special airs December 5, while the OST, The Sound of Music: Music from the NBC Television Event, hits December 3.
Carrie's role was famously played by Julie Andrews in the original 1965 production, while Stephen Moyer (True Blood) takes over the role previously filled by Christopher Plummer.
"After [The Sound of Music], I feel like I can really buckle down and start working on the next album," Underwood told Billboard after wrapping the production this summer.
