Bruce Springsteen Dedicates 'American Skin (41 Shots)' To Trayvon Martin

During a gig in Limrick, Ireland, Bruce Springsteen dedicated "American Skin (41 Shots)" to Trayvon Martin, whose killer George Zimmerman was acquitted late last week. The Boss wrote the song about the 1999 shooting death of Amadou Diallo, an unarmed man who was killed by four NYPD officers.

"I want to send this one out as a letter back home," Springsteen told the crowd, according to the Star Ledger. "For justice for Trayvon Martin."

Springsteen played the song for the first time on his current tour during a stop in Tampa Bay, Florida just weeks after he heard about the death of Martin, according to the Huffington Post.

"You can get killed just for living in your American skin," is one of the lines that Bruce sings during the moving track.
