Sting To Perform New Album During New York City Benefit Shows

Sting has announced that he will be performing songs from his upcoming album The Last Ship during ten dates at New York City's Public Theater.

The shows, which also function as a benefit for the small venue, run from September 25 through October 9. In addition to the performances, which have been billed as the only time Sting will play the songs live, the gig will feature story telling and multimedia aspects.

"The Public Theater, a New York institution committed to supporting all of the city's distinct communities, was a natural fit to perform this material that is, at its core, about the importance of community," Sting told the Hollywood Reporter.

Tickets for the shows, ranging from $250 to $2,500, go on sale July 14 at 10:01 p.m.
