Paul McCartney's Drummer Teases New Album

Abe Laboriel Jr., the drummer for Paul McCartney, recently sat down with the Boston Globe to speak on the former Beatles' first record of original material in six years.

"It's exciting," he explained to the paper regarding the LP's musical content. "A lot of different styles. It's very youthful - aggressively rock at times, and singer-songwriter, insular and intimate, at others."

He added that Macca's enduring career is owed, in part, to his dedication to the artform:

"Even if he's making a little fruit salad, he's humming a tune or whistling away. The music doesn't stop around him. It's beautiful."

That energy, concluded Laboriel, translates to the group's recent slate of tour dates:

"He has boundless energy. At the end of an almost three-hour show, I'm completely wiped out. I've run the marathon. It's amazing - he's still bouncing around."
