Michael Jackson May Have Been Without Real Sleep For 60 Days

Michael Jackson may have gone as many as 60 days without quality sleep in the months leading up to his death. The revelation came in testimony given by Harvard School of Medicine sleep expert Dr. Charles Czeisler, who took the stand this week in the ongoing wrongful death lawsuit by Jacko's family against promoters AEG Live.

"The symptoms that Mr. Jackson was exhibiting were consistent with what someone might expect to see of someone suffering from total sleep deprivation over a chronic period," Czeisler said.

"I believe that that constellation of symptoms was more probably than not induced by total sleep deprivation over a chronic period."

According to Czeisler, Jackson's propofol induced sleep would have prevented him from achieving the rapid eye movement, or REM, state of sleep. He added:

"It would be like eating some sort of cellulose pellets instead of dinner. Your stomach would be full, and you would not be hungry, but it would be zero calories and not fulfill any of your nutrition needs."
