Lady Gaga's Tour Cancellation Could Exceed $30 Million

Lady Gaga's recently canceled Born This Way Ball tour could cost the pop megastar nearly $30 million, according to estimates based on Pollstar data.

Gaga announced last week that she was forced to cancel all remaining dates on the tour due to a labral tear to her right hip, which would require surgery and an extensive period of recovery.

Initially, the Mother Monster postponed four tour dates when learning she was suffering from synovitis, an inflammation of the joints. However, she underwent tests the following day, revealing the full extent of the damage.

"I hid it from my staff, I didn't want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last night's performance I could not walk and still can't," she confessed on her website.

According to Pollstar, Gaga's world tour in 2012 grossed $161.4 million.
