Beyoncé Urged To Back Out Of Pepsi Endorsement Deal

Beyoncé's lucrative endorsement deal with Pepsi is not sitting well with one public health watchdog group. The Center for Science in the Public Interest has issued an official statement formally requesting that the pop star step away from the deal.

"Your image is one of success, health, talent, fitness and glamour," the health group wrote in its letter. "But by lending your name and image to PepsiCo, you are associating those positive attributes with a product that is quite literally sickening Americans."

The statement goes on to list the various health issues linked with soda including obesity, diabetes, heart disease and tooth decay.

Lady Bey's new deal with Pepsi will bring her image to Pepsi cans. She will also reportedly star new ads for the cola giant and perform for the Pepsi Halftime Show at the NFL's Super Bowl on February 3.
