Dixie Chicks' Member Covers Pink Floyd's 'Mother'

Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines has recorded a cover of Pink Floyd's 1979 track "Mother." Maines teamed up with rocker Ben Harper to record the song for the soundtrack album West of Memphis: Voices of Justice.

The documentary West of Memphis follows the story of three accused child murderers who were imprisoned, then exonerated after 18 years. The documentary was produced by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh (the Lord of the Rings trilogy), Amy Berg (Best Documentary Oscar nominee for Deliver Us From Evil), and first-time producers Damien Echols and Lorri Davis.

West of Memphis premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 2012, and will open in New York and Los Angeles on Christmas Day. The soundtrack, which also features songs from Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Eddie Vedder, and Band of Horses, will be released on January 15.
