ABBA's Gold Named U.K.'s Best Selling CD

ABBA's greatest hits compilation, Gold, is still the best selling CD of all time in the U.K., according to new figures from The Official Charts Company. The comp has sold 4 million copies, besting runner-up Adele's 21 by half-a-million copies.

The third most popular CD of all time in the U.K. is What's the Story, Morning Glory?, Oasis' second album, which has sold 3.4 million copies since its 1995 debut.

Amy Winehouse's Back to Black (3.23 million) and James Blunt's Back to Bedlam (3.21) round out the top five.

Curiously enough, there is only one album from the Fab Four on the list. The Beatles' compilation, 1, which was released in 2000 took the twelve spot, moving 2.85 million copies since its release.
