Prince, along with his band 3RDEYEGIRL, will appear at the 2014 Brit Awards to give out the night's first trophy. The news was announced by the event's organizers, who did not elaborate on which award the Purple One would be handing out. Currently playing gigs around London, Prince performed at the BRITs in 2006 and has won five Awards in his career.
Taylor Swift has announced that her Red tour will hit Asia this year. The dates begin June 4 at Jakarta, Indonesia's MEIS Ancol and wrap at Singapore's Singapore Indoor Stadium on June 12. Further dates include Manila, Philippines' Mall of Asia Arena (June 6), Bangkok, Thailand's Impact Arena (June 9) and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil.
Martina McBride has released "Suspicious Minds," an Elvis cover from her upcoming album, Everlasting. The song, written by Mark James, was recorded by the King in 1969 and also served as a hit for Dionne Warwick in 1971. "There aren't very many female versions of that song," McBride told USA Today. "[I]t makes sense for a woman to sing it."
Boston fronter Tom Scholz has opened up about the band's new album, Life, Love & Hope. The rocker spoke with Classic Rock Revisited, dishing on his creative process: "I don't start out the session by putting on the first Boston album and then thinking, 'All right, I need to write songs and arrange things this way,'" Scholz began.
During the filming of a promo for "G.U.Y. (Girl Under You)," Lady Gaga was allegedly bitten by a slow loris, a sloth-like creature. A source told the New York Post that Gaga wanted to use the furry animal in the shoot: "The slow loris is the cutest creature on the planet, and Lady Gaga wanted to use it in one scene, but it nipped her."
